"My MacBook Keyboard Is Not Working "
1. Check for software issues.
- Keyboard issues can be related to software glitches. Make sure your MacBook's operating system is up-to-date.
- Restart your MacBook to see if that resolves the problem.
2. Clean your keyboard.
Dust and debris can accumulate under the keys and affect their performance. You can use compressed air to blow out any debris, or gently clean the keys with a small brush.
3. External Keyboard
If you have an external keyboard, connect it to your MacBook. If the external keyboard works fine, the issue may be with the built-in keyboard.
4. Check Keyboard Settings
Go to "System Preferences" > "Keyboard" and check the settings. Ensure that there are no unusual key mappings or accessibility settings causing the problem.
5. Hardware Diagnostics
Run Apple Diagnostics to check for hardware issues. To do this, turn off your MacBook, then turn it on while holding down the 'D' key. Follow the on-screen instructions.
6. Reset NVRAM and SMC
Resetting the Non-Volatile Random-Access Memory (NVRAM) and System Management Controller (SMC) can resolve various display issues. If your Apple laptop features a non-removable battery, follow these instructions to reset the SMC:
1. Shut down the laptop using the Apple menu (Apple icon -> Shut Down).
2. After the laptop has fully powered down, simultaneously press and hold the Shift, Control, and Option keys on the left side of the built-in keyboard, then press the power button. Maintain this key combination for 10 seconds.
3. Note: If you own a MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the Touch ID button serves as the power button.
